    Default Trumpers Unscented Moisturiser

I'd been looking for a good pre-shave lotion for a while and hadnt had much success with pre-shave oils. I find them to be a little bit too oily and hard to get off the skin for my tastes, but after a barber at Trumpers used their unscented moisturiser as a pre-shave when I went for a shave, I knew my search was over.

This stuff makes a really great pre-shave treatment. I'd used their skin food a couple of times but found it comes off a little bit too easily: Almost the opposite of the pre-shave oil! :)

All I do is take a blob about the size of two almonds, rub it into the beard and apply a hot towel over the top. When you remove the towel a small amount of the cream remains and it adds a lot of glide to the shave.

It would also work well as a post shave moisturiser if you prefer.

It comes in a functional plastic bottle with a white label. Not a bottle you'd put on display, but it works.

    Burn/ Bite:

None at all. This is as inoffensive to the skin as a light summer breeze.

    Moisturising:

A solid 10 here. This stuff does exactly what it says on the tin!

    Scent:

None at all, apart from a very faint scent of plain moisturiser.

    Texture:

I dont like oily moisturisers, and fortunately this is pretty much spot on! It is just oily enough to get the job done and nothing more. I wouldnt use it as a post shave treatment personally as I prefer skin food, but its certainly not too oily for that.

It washes off the hands pretty easily as well, unlike some pre-shave oils.

    Price:

£14 for a bottle of the stuff, which makes it pretty reasonable. A bottle lasts ages as well so its pretty economical. I bought my bottle back in February and I still have about a 1/3 of the bottle left with daily use.

    Overall:

It adds a lot of glide to the shave as well as preparing the skin and beard for the shave. Its not too pricey, a bottle lasts ages and it doesnt hang around on the hands for a month of Sundays. This is a seriously good pre-shave treatment and one I highly recommend, especially if you are not keen on pre-shave oils.

Give it a try, you wont be disappointed!

    Thumbs up Good stuff

    Stu,
I agree with you. I use Trumper's moisturizer quite often. Unlike you, I found it to be very good and effective after each shave. I use it after the skin food. I think there are probably other products with better moisturizing capacity, but Trumper's is at the top 5 for me. There's is no scent, which makes this great if you wish to use your favorite cologne/AS...no clash of scents. It is not oily. A bit pricey, but for the quality, it is worth every penny.
