    Default rose scented cologne

I have recently come to enjoy Trumpers Coral Skin Food, but the scent doesn't last. Does anyone know of a rose-scented men's cologne that could be used along with the Coral skin food? Thanks in advance.

i don't know of one, but please let me know if you find one. i'm obsessed with rose.

i rock rose water a lot, and i mean a lot. i go insane with the stuff. it's good for the skin as well. heritage products has a rose water and a rose water with glycerin for like $7 each at whole foods. lasts me a few months, and i literally go crazy with the stuff every day.

fwiw, the bottle for the non-glycerin version says it's edible too. haven't tried...

If I want rose then I usually go with Penhaligon's Hammam Bouquet. I know the head notes are lavender and bergamot, but there is a strong Turkish Rose Otto heart note that comes through.

I've also tried the Czech & Speake rose based scents, but unfortunately they didn't last on my skin, although it might well be different for you.

I'd trawl around for some samples of scents if I were you.

I receently order samplers from truefitt and hill which had a rose cologne, and also from czech and speake which had rose and dark rose colognes.
not tried the trumpers coral skin food to much so cant really compare smell but they might be good places to start

    Default Rose-scented Cologne

    Hello, sffone:

The Pink Aftershave by D.R. Harris has a light rose scent. I don't know how lasting the scent is, although I would assume not long, and it is only an aftershave rather than a cologne.

    Regards,

    Obie

hehe, I too love the scent of rose, so I would love to know the answer to this as well.

The directions I found for the Heritage Rose water (w/o Glycerin) says "Use as a perfume or body splash, add to your hair rinse or bath water, or try as a gourmet flavoring. You can also combine with therapeutic oils to make your own unique complexion formula"

So it sounds like you can consume it

I had a bottle of a few years ago and used to flavor my drinks with it...yup, I love rose a lot

Thanks, gents, for your suggestions. I looked into the Czech and Speake scents and their "Dark Rose" seemes to be just what I'm after, but the stuff is expensive -- $185 a bottle, so I just ordered a sample. I'm also trying to find Truefitt and Hill samples. I'm just surprised at the cost of some of these men's colognes. I remember back when $25 for a bottle of smell-good was considered extravagant -- of course, that was many years.

C&S 88 has a nice rose note that is mingled with a touch of incense. It is very nice and stays in my rotation. Domenico Caraceni is another excellent scent that has some predominant rose in it. If you are looking for something a bit cheaper, then check out Saint Charles Shave. Sue has a Savory Rose Edt and also a Damascena Rose Edt. I have not tried either but Sue's stuff is very good. I have the Damascena Rose soap and AS and they are excellent in scent and performance.

I know i am a newbie at wet shaving, never really bothered about cologne she used to just buy it for me.
Order a load of samples and also went shopping in glasgow for a new one for my self which suprisingly had a lot of good shops for it( crabtree& evelyn, jo malone. l'occataine and a few others) lovely smells but the price of some actually made me look twice.
but i did pick up some more soaps and once i adjust myself to the price will pick up some colgnes smell so good.

ps. the uk site for C&S sells it for £75 which would about $125 plus shipping so might be worth a e-mail but there complete sampler for $10 including shipping is defenitly worth it.
there is a thread about this sampler in the colgones section thats how i found out about it
