Pre-Shave Oil
How many of you use a pre-shave oil ? And why do you or don't you use it ?

I use it. Having only about 20 shaves under my belt, I don't have much experience. I think with tomorrow's shave I'll try not using it and see how it goes. But as far as i can tell, it is quite useful.

i've used it once and i just don't like the feeling of rubbing oil into my face.. just not my thing.. it does make your blade slide much easier..

after experimenting without it, I have to say I recommend it, although I don't think it's a must have. The razor does seem to glide easier and I notice less pulling also. The lather seems to go on more smoothe also.

I used the Anthony pre-shave oil and did like it, but my face did not. I have oily skin to begin with. There wasn't any noticeable difference in the shave. It may help more if you do not shower before your shave. My shave always follows a shower. Not a bad product though,

I use it and I like it. I have AOS Lemon and Sandalwood. I use it for the XTG and ATG passes. I must say that it has reduced the total irritation that I receive to near zero!

I rarely use an oil, but I do use Proraso's pre-shave cream often. I'm probably one of the few who thinks it actually improves the quality of my shaves. I don't find, however, that its scent mixes well with other soaps/creams.

Straight acting and manly
I had not used shave oil for years , I tried it years ago when I shaved with a Mach 3 and it just gummed up the blades.
I recently went for a Barber shop shave and they used it, so I bought a bottle and use it each and every time. For me it has been nothing short of a revelation, I know some on here don't like it but American crew shave oil has improved my shaves 100%.
I usually rub a little into my face after a shower, hot towel for a couple of minutes, lather, strop the razor, re lather then shave.

I have been using my own mixture of almond oil and peppermint oil for a while now. It "refreshes" me, I like the smell and I think it allows for a more comfortable shave.

At Last, my Arm is Complete Again!!
Yes, and experiment also..........
I use Proraso Pre/Post shave before with a mixture of 2 to 1 Olive oil/Caster Bean Oil, with clove oil mixed in. Though sometimes I will try different combo's with other products and with hot towel preshave treatments. And once a a while I just lather Up and SHAVE!! [WORKS TOO]
