Thread: whiskey scented aftershave recipes

I am just wondering if anyone has has any ideas how one might go about making a whiskey scent using gentleman jack something along the lines of the bay rhums.
I have seen a whiskey aftershave in the review section so that is the purpose of my question,

You might not want to drive to work with a whisky scented after shave. espeacially if you get pulled over.

too true but I have two things going for me one I dont drive and two I live in China everyone is drunk even the cops half the time.

Not whiskey,but Knize Sec smells like gin.

In the shave of the day there was someone who used "Gentleman Jack" by Jack Daniels, straight from the bottle, as an aftershave, with success.

Also, most whiskeys are very aromatic, when the alcohol has dissipated(after a few minutes) the aroma stays, and it doesn't resemble a "You've been drinking just now"-smell.

I think the whiskey in itself(with perhaps some glycerin) is a fine aftershave. The bay leafs in Bay Rum are aromatic(and have some topical properties) mostly. And using a lot of spices makes the Bay Rum smell great.

But(good) whiskey is different, in that IMO it is drunk mostly straight up, maybe just some whiskey+lemon peel+ginger will make a good aftershave.

Maybe an Islay(smokey) whisky will be suited the best for this, as it is the furthest removed from rum and has really specific(MANLY!!!!) aroma's.

Well... I'm gonna marinate on it.

I slopped some Wild Turkey down the front of me the other night. I thought I smelled terrific.

just for the fun of it.. i mixed equal parts thayer's witch hazel w/aloe and knob creek bourbon.. had a very nice aroma to it and a pleasing tingle.. i'm thinking of making more.. but the more i make.. the less i get to drink.

Geez, what do you do with bad whiskey?

PS - I'll bet you have the best tasting aftershave around. :-)
