Default Finally Got My Proraso After Shave!

    Hey Guys,

I've built quite a collection of AS in just a month, and I finally got some Proraso and tried it today! I love this stuff! Great smell and an awesome menthol tingle that lingers for a good while. The menthol isn't really what I would consider a burn, just a nice, fresh feeling! The scent doesn't stay as long as Clubman, but it's good enough for me.

I'm so glad I got this, as it's now spring and some of my recent scents seem heavy and not suited for the season. I'm sure there will be more purchases in my future, but it is nice to have another great smelling option now!

Glad you're liking the Proraso. It's one of my favorite inexpensive (read: cheap) aftershaves. I'm not a big fan of burn like you, so I also appreciate the mildness of Proraso, as it's pretty forgiving. But it is does have to potential to bite you if you don't do your part.

Proraso AS is one of my favourite ones especially for summer time.

Proraso AS comes in two types--a traditional alcohol based concoction and a liquid emulsion that is more like an AS balm.

I have both, but prefer the alcohol based type.

I feel like I own every AS but have not tried Proraso. I've heard many good words about it.

Hi, I've got the shave cream, and now the pre/post cream. At first I thought the pre/post smelt like 'Vicks' (a cold (flu) rub to rub on one's chest), but it wore off after a while and feels great on the skin. Does the AS smell the same as the pre/post cream? I thought the pre/post would smell the same as the shave cream, but it's a little different. I don't want to smell like I've got a heavy cold, but I DO like the smell nevertheless. Eucalyptus fragrance is very common as a flu and cold remedy here (might be so everywhere).

PS, I just asked the wife to smell me, she said "smell?" (I think she was expecting a "feel me" (I'm talking FACE guys, get your minds out the gutter!), she said I smell like an old man! I suggested maybe she meant 'traditional'...)

It's pretty common here too. I am a fan of the menthol/Eucalyptus scent and tingle, but must admit I prefer the burn of alcohol.

The pre/post contains camphor, hence the Vicks Vap-o-Rub smell, but the AS splash is a masculine fougère-type of smell, and it has that right balance of suave, medicinal, barbershoppy, menthol and manly. My only regret is that they do not market the smell as a cologne.
