    Default Baby Blue no more

I recently sent the following question to Mark @ super lather.com:

    "Mark,

I purchased a 400 ml bottle of the Floid Blue aftershave from you months
ago. I keep the bottle on top of a shave cabinet in my bathroom, which is
under a skylight. Over time, I have noticed the blue color has almost
completely faded and is now almost clear. As this has been a gradual
process, I'm not sure, but it seems to have lost some potency of scent.
Should I replace it, and would this phenomonon likely be due to UV
exposure? Will keeping the bottle out of sun prevent this?"

Mark had not seen this happen, but suggested I post on the forum to see if anyone else had. I would also add that he graciously offered to send me a small sample to compare the strength of scent. I have since decided to keep what I have for now, but wonder if anyone else has experienced this, and if so, does the scent disappear as well?

This has never happened to me before, but I could almost guarantee that UV exposure is to blame for this entire affair. Someone else posted something fairly similar, but IIRC I think it was shaving soap on the window sill.

You'll likely have to replace the bottle. Fading colour is acceptable, but not fading scent - kinda defeats the purpose. Just remember to keep subsequent bottles (and other shaving products) out of the sun from now on.

Florescent lights will do the same thing.
