Thread: Whats Truefitt & Hill "1805" Cologne smell like???

Hello,

Im currently using Dolce & Gabbana The One just about everyday. Now that Im into str8 razors its opened a whole can of worms when it comes to colognes. Normally I buy designer colognes that come from companies that aren't associated with wet shaving. Truefitt & Hill has a few colognes but 1805 seems to be very popular. So whats it smell like? Is it overly strong? Does it last all day or only a few hours? Im 24 so Im looking for a younger man smell, something fresh. Colognes I like: polo black, polo blue, D&G The One, CK One, Acqua di Gio, Dirty English if Im feeling classy. If 1805 doesn't sound like it will work for me what would you recommend from Truefitt & Hill? I dont know of any places locally that carry any of their products so I cant see what I like:-(

Never tried it but its reviewed on basenotes T&H do a cologne sample pack but it doesn't include the 1805 cologne, however it may be worth contacting them to see if they would swap one out for you.

Yes, I'd say it's a younger man scent. It's a "marine" scent, fresh and slightly sweet. I love it, as does my wife.

I've only used the AS and the Shaving cream, so I can't say how long the cologne lasts.

Ive never seen basenotes before, cool site. From the reviews it seems the scent doesn't last long :-( Im going to order a sample pack and see what I like. It comes with:

I like T&H shave creams, 1805 is my favorite. It does have a "Marine" smell. It reminds me of the Ocean for some reason. I was however, disappointed with the Cologne. Now, maybe it was the sample I received, but it had an overpowering Alcohol smell to it. It was nothing like the Shave Cream or After Shave Balm.
I use Colognes, and like Dirty English, Cool Water, Eternity, Lagerfeld (old school) and John Varvatos to name a few...
