Ok, seriously, what's your routine with this stuff? This will be my first time trying it.

After your shave, rinse off the excess lather, dry your face and splash some of the witch hazel on. Let it air dry and then use whatever AS you usually do.

Might be at the WalMart but for sure you'll find it at more healthy oriented stores like Whole Foods or independent health food stores. Of course, it's also available on line from shaving sites.

After my shave i rinse with cold water then use Alum , after a few further mins i splash Thayers all over (lovely stuff), when dry i use an aftershave balm.

I use Thayers Cucumber never tried the 'medicated superhazel' tho.

    Cheers MW.

Usually the cheap witch hazel's are available at the devil's superstore, but the best are cold processed and contain little or no alcohol. I prefer Thayer's for its ready availability. I apply it every morning as a regular astringent/moisturizer (in the case of aloe version) and after rinsing off my alum I apply it before my regular AS.

Witch hazel works fine either on it's own, or as part of a post shave routine. Most grocery and drug stores sell it. Some people prefer a more expensive scented and or alchohol free version, but even a geneic grocery store one should work fine for most people.

In the summer I find that Dickenson's WH with alcohol is fine but during the winter months I prefer Thayers non-alcohol WH toner.

Either one, a quick splash after using an alum block and then some AS.

I generally splash some on after the shave, followed by an AS lotion. Since I just started using a straight, I have always followed this routine... until this morning. Finished my shave, and slathered on some Calvin Klein "Eternity" and found out the reasoning behind the name. That's how long it burned. Was completely shocked as to how much the witch hazel alleviated the burn if used prior to AS or cologne...
