@Birnando: Saw that one on the Swedish bay a two weeks ago or so. Looks simple and gorgeous.

Hi, I want to join the club too. After trying knives from Germany, England, Japan & USA I now realized how good Swedish steel is.
I especially love Heljestrands. I own a 4 and a 30 and now looking for more...

Three new acquisitions, all still to be honed:

    Two restored:

    #1 C.W. Dahlgren, 5/8 french point
    and
    #3 C.V. Heljestrand MK 31

And one pretty much shiny and new:

C.V. Heljestrand MK 23, 5/8 in stainless steel

(I used a photo from the auction site since my girlfriend has a lousy camera and I don't have any)

Can't believe this thread was dangling somewhere halfway page two, where's the love?!

Just came in the mail today, just polished off some staining, already had a decent bevel so after half an hour of honing and stropping delivered me my best shave so far.

It came with three extra blades and the original box which has some instructions in Swedish, so this one will last me four lifetimes.

Oh, out of the ones I posted on this page, after honing the Heljestrand No. 23 (quarter hollow) shaves the best after this one. I'm really starting to dig the heavier grinds.

I can easily remove the small spots on the blade but they kind of matches the scales (wild look)
