Welcome to the forum. With razors you will likely never know the date of manufacture, only an approximate span of years it may have been made in. You may find the model from old catalogues and sources like that. Yes, it is carbon steel.

The Boker tree symbol has changed over the years so you may be able to match the tree symbol on the razor to the same design found here STRAZORS.com - all about classic razors - H.Boker & Co, Solingen. to find a time period.

Thanks Bob, great chart. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get a match, yet. Will do some more digging.

Yea, I was never very good at matching the tree to any Boker I had either. All the Bokers I have shaved with have been very good though.

I have a similar chart to Bob's. My guess would be from 1891-1944.
+1 on what BobH said about all of his being good shavers. I have yet to find one that wasn't.

My golden ticket to the boker brotherhood. Going to rescale it and send it off to hone. Picked it up for $20 today.
Oh man, that's a nice boker. Love that spine work and those scales.
