Shumate Barber's, st-louis, pick this up at antique store, nothing fancy, overall im very very pleased, and part of the rotation.
After removing a couple of little nicks this was the hardest razor to set a bevel on that i worked on so far, and after that all good.Im definately happy to be part of "the Shumate society" and forsee more of them in my future!!Name: shumate 001.jpg

Here is my one and only Shumate. It needs some work, the blade hits the scale, but the blade is in great shape.

Found this on the bay last week..

Says Shumate Razor Co on the back tang and Shumate's Peacemaker on the front stamping

Need allot of work but the blade and scales are great. Any thoughts on the scale material?

Was listed as a Zartina Cutlery Works, obviously the coffin doesn't match the razor.

Guessing Scale material from a pic is notoriously inaccurate

We can only use experience and the contours of the scales, using just that I would say Celluloid, touching it and smelling it I could tell you exactly what it is
