I got this razor from Sharp&Shiny as part of a trade. I received it in almost shave ready, good condition. The razor has a nice mirror finish, marred only by an area of pitting that cannot be sensibly removed. The rest of the details can be found in our Straight Razor Database: Sellers, John & Sons "Unnamed 6/8 wedge in ivory". You are looking at a sizeable wedge with beautiful scales which can be had a at a reasonable price.
Craftsmanship: Immaculate, particularly taking into consideration the razor's age. The scales are beautifully done, fit tightly, and open and close without any problems. The blade is just what you would expect from an antique English razor.
Balance: Very good, but leaning a bit towards the blade. Not much of a problem, but not perfect, either.
Collectibility: Sellers razors are quite rare. They are also quite underrated.
Price: Despite their being rare, these razors can be had for a reasonable price on various auction sites. Get one if you can.
Overall: One has to like wedges to fully appreciate this razor. It is far from easy to hone (thankfully, Nick of The Different Scent took care of mine, as honing a smiling wedge is, and will be for a long time, beyond my honing abilities), but once it is shave ready, it is up there with the best of them. I received three other wedges as part of the trade, but this one is clearly my favourite.
