I can't disagree with the quality stated here about the wonderedge or the ability of the Ducks to hone up great and very easily. I will say that they are not the only straights that can obtain that quality of edge and lots of them are much more reasonable in price. I picked up a Robeson off EBay for $5 a while ago w/ candy cane scales. Took it to my local barber when I got my lst hair cut and he fell in love with the blade and the edge. He kept saying "Oh my God! Can you feel that?" and I kept saying "No, but I can hear it cutting!" He went back for more lather and gave me a quick shave with it just to experience the cut some more. This shop does not do shaves! He did use my wonderedge a while ago. While the brand of the blade excited him he didn't get as excited with it as much as he did the Robeson. As there are many blades that will obtain an edge close to or equal to the ducks my point here is that for the price there are many better values, which I consider a major draw back. If you've got the money, a wonderedge is a great addition to a collection or a great one razor to own. If budget constraints are a issue pick up some American steel. You can have several for a fraction of the price.

    Default Thread re-opened.

Please stay on topic and REVIEW the razor in the OP. If your review conflicts with someone elses, thats fine. Let's try and avoid an open debate of opinion.
That would be for the razor forum. Thanks.

I'm not sure where to put this so feel free to move it. But I actually found this debate very interesting, and very "above the belt". If I was looking to buy a WE this is where I'd look and the debate would really help me decide - I wouldn't want an antiseptic go team discussion and then have to do a search to find dissenting opinions. So for whatever it's worth, I think back and forth in the reviews like this is great and don't understand why this was ever locked.

Fair is a price you are comfortable paying. The price on this razor and any other is based on the seller and their clients, as far as vintage razors go. If the same vintage razor was at a flea market, antique shop and ebay the price would vary greatly and would be fair under each situation. Add to the flea markets and antique shops the physical location and prices will vary again. Bottom line is fair is up to you and the place you find one.

Also note that we do not give appraisals or estimates on this site.
