    Default Dubl Duck Lifetime

So this is the one, you look and look for and when you see it you hope that no one else saw it...

These shave as good as any DD maybe a bit better becasue they are so rare :)

To find one in good shape takes time, lets put it this way I have seen maybe 10 in 3 years of continual searches on e-bay out of those 10 I bought 2 of them, one was in good shape, and this one was in excelent shape...

I still shave with it, and as usual with a DD I am always rewarded with a great shave...

Price on these is a non-issue you either wan't one or you don't....

Watch when you just see just the word Lifetime though, as DD made a shavette by the same name, and e-bay sellers know that... Always look for the telltale "Grim Reaper" inlay at the wedge end of the scales....

Default Is it the blade/shave? or the unique-ness

    Glenn,

    'Grats on a beautiful find.

Is the shave different from other DDs of the same configuration? I ask, 'cause I'm trying to rescale a DD special #1 pearlduck. 'Scales were toast. The blade looks the same. I don't know if the lifetime has blued spine/shank/tang - or at least did. Maybe this will be a keeper if most DD blades shave alike.

    Lightbulb

There is much we don't know, so I just go by what I feel on the hones and my face...
There are some people that claim the all DD's are the same, but we do know that isn't true since they came from different sources through the years..
The Lifetime "Reaper" was the pinnacle of one of those series...The Wonderedge was another, do they shave better, I think so, but I can't prove it..
What I do know, is that, as a brand name, DD's and their cousins are the most consistent razors I have honed or shaved... Maybe only the good DD's have survived :) but basically unless there is either damage, or previous bad honing, you will be rewarded with a good edge if you do your job...
