Default Revisor 8/8 Square Point in Horn Scales

I have long been a fan of vintage Revisor razors and have kept several in my permanent collection because they have always been great shavers. It was exciting to me when Thomas Kronenberg purchased the Revisor name and began producing these razors once again.

    Craftsmanship
: I think the fit and finish of this razor is top notch. The grinding, etching and horn scales are very complimentary of one another. The polish is very nice and I like the shape of the scales as well as the jimps on top of the shank. The color pattern of these scales is really nice looking too. The blade takes an excellent edge and does not disappoint in the shave at all. I am a fan of the square point on this razor which definitely keeps my ear lobes out of harms way.

Balance: I was surprised at just how nice the balance of this razor is in my hands. It feels quite comfortable and maneuvers very easily for a large razor. It really is a pleasure to use and actually feels light to me.

Collectability: With the limited amount of larger razors being commercially made today, I believe this razor should be considered very collectible and there should be one in your collection.

Price: In my opinion, the price is very fair for a large razor in today's market.

Overall:I am quite pleased with this razor and will be getting one of the 6/8 Revisors next. It is a great looking razor and an excellent shaver. I could ask for no more.

Thanks a lot for the review, Lynn. Pictures of these razors can be found on the Revisor website: 8/8. I also own one and am equally pleased with it. The prices for Revisor's big blades are very attractive. At approx EUR 190 (~ USD 260), they should make for an interesting alternative to Wacker razors (and, of course, the hyped and therefore overpriced big brand names from England and Spain). And you really have to see the deep etching on these blades in person - it is rather beautiful.
