Default Antique Shaving Kit ID, any ideas?

    Hi,

My dad gave me an antique razor set and I have no idea who made it or its value. On the bottom of the kit, the numbers 176 appear, but part of the bottom has been cracked and lost. I assume it means 1760-something. The only identifying mark I can see on the blades is mark, which is shown. It is on all four blades. Any help would be appreciated.Name: IMG_0720.jpg

I.M.O., everything was collected separately. The only items with a connect are the razors. The pipe logo was used by George Wostenholm but by another much earlier manufacturer used it also. The box may have been custom made to hold the items many of which are newer than the razors.
    That's my guess.

It is a very nice set, I just do not have a need for it. I would rather someone who can appreciate it enjoy it. It is very cool though.

You might consider putting it in the BST here in an auction format.
This would be the place to get it to an appreciative new owner here, I believe.

I have no idea what might be an appropriate place to start at price wise. Totally out of my knowledge zone.

On an auction format, it should find it's own plateau, regardless of starting point?

Here is a sticky for the BST rules.

    Classifieds rules

You would have to chip in 10.00 for the selling fee, but will be much better than listing it on an auction site such as EBay, IMO

Research in areas such as online auction sites, Ebay for items of similar nature. The market(interest in your items) will decide.

Straight Razor Place does not valuate items.

Good luck with finding a good home for your items, they are quite nice.

There will be no further discussion in this thread as regard to their potential value.

Thank you, I appreciate all the input. I'll see what I can find out and when I find out anything, I will place them in the BST forum.
