    Default 13/16 Bartmann 7-days set

    I found this 13/16 Bartmann 7-days set
The Friday razor was broken but I’ve grinded it down to a spike point razor. Sunday was used but the others five were unused. They are extra hollow and they sing so nicely…
They needed some care, cleaning and polishing, some of the spacers had expanded so I grinded down them too: now every razor fits perfectly in its scales. Honing will be next step. The box is very nice and in good condition too: light wood with silk paper and red velvet...
What do you think about their age? Late 1930 may be?

Amazing grab there Sir! I would imagine the unused 5 would bring close to $1000 if sold seperately. I'd be tempted to do that myself. Amazing how many Solingen cutlers used "High Class" Gold Wash on their blades!

...and they are perfectlly balanced too

I was thinking to hone them with this progression: Naniwa 1000-> 3000->8000->10000->12000 and then finish them with different hones: 2 different coticules, 1 escher, 1 nakayama maruka and then compare the shaving results...so I need at least two new finishing hones

Yes I was thinking about that $$ too...but they are so gorgeous (pics are taken with a simple Canon camera) so I don't think I could put them on Ebay

That is a great find. Bartmanns are some of my favorites and I have a few ..... all real fine shavers. You a lucky guy.
