Default Crown Cutlery Co. New York New York

Picked up a sight half seen from whipped dog. It's a Crown Cutlery Co New York, New York 11/16 full hollow.

I wanted to know if anyone knew anything about this company. I know there were many Crown Cutlery Companies, but I can't find anything about one based on NY that made proper shaving razors.

According to Goins Encyclopedia of Cutlery Markings they were in New York between 1900-1930. That's all the info in that book. At least you have a timeframe?

I don't have any history for you, but I just picked one up not too long ago. Fantastic shaver, as most American razors are.

    as most American razors are
It's not a fact, that they are Americans.
Crown Cutlery Co., located in New York. It was a wholesale company, they were not makers.
Crown Cutlery Co., New York - 1916-1919
Crown Cutlery Co., Germany - 1910s-1920s
Crown Cutlery Co., Austria - 1910s-1920s.

P.S. My personal opinion, that Crown Cutlery Co. and Crown Razor Co. are the same company. But I can't prove it now.

Mine says made in U.S.A. both on the coffin and on the tail of the razor.

Crown Cutlery Co. razors with the stamp "made in US" were made during WWI.
    It's one company:
Crown Cutlery Co., New York - 1916-1919
Crown Cutlery Co., Germany - 1910s-1920s
Crown Cutlery Co., Austria - 1910s-1920s.
