Thread: Trying to ID this Boker

Got this Boker off Fleabay for CHEAP and I wanted to ID it (Get an approx Age and perhaps model)

It's going to be sent off to Glen tomorrow to see if the chips can be fixed (I hope they can, it's in nice shape otherwise) but I would like to know more about it...

It has the Tree symbol and says "H Boker & Co. No386 on it

I've found your razor model in the H.Boker & Co. catalog, New York, 1906.
The age of the razor is ...first half of the 20th century.

I have a Boker 386 I picked up at a very reasonable price from LarryAndro because of a busted scale. I made a set of scales, honed it up and she gives the typical "Buttery Smooth' shave Bokers are noted for. I liked my first one so well, a 'Good As Gold', I now have 8 Bokers in my collection.

Interesting, the no.386 shown in the 1906 catalog has the tree stamped in the upright position whereas mine has the tree laying on it's side (facing the blade)

Wonder if this is a pre-1900 razor possibly...

I'll gladly defer to those closer to the Boker history, but an image of the tree trademark was posted some time back that dates blades according to the trademark symbol.

The absence of the text: 'tree brand' and just the bare tree, seem to indicate its the 1924-1935 era.

I've tried to date razors according to the position of the "tree", but nothing. There isn't connection.
