Thread: 3 razors for under half a C note

I picked up these 3 razors today.
One is a Frederick Reynolds in Tortoise Scales with some surface rust.


One is a Amendola Enterprise out of New Haven also with some surface rust.

One is a Black Diamond?? No markings on the tang also with some surface rust.


I sanded down the rust but and removed most of the pitting. I gave them a quick buff and polish and will hone them later today. Here is the after shot

I honed them up and got a really nice shave from the FR. The R. Amendola is honed but this so called black diamond is incredibly resistant to getting a good edge on

I knew you would like the shave from the FR. I have 4 myself, one is a faux frameback, and enjoy shaving with each one. Most FRs can be a bear to hone but will hold the edge really well. That one should last you forever.

Now only if I can identify the black diamond one. It's got markings on the tang but look as if they were originally etched as opposed to stamped. You can just make it out in this pic

Black Diamond was a trademark used by Krusius Brothers from 1900-1940 for Shapleigh Hardware.
Black Diamond Cutlery was Krusius Brothers, but the book doesn't say if it was sold by Shapleigh. Same years though.

I own a few FR's and I love them. Yours is a nice one and a keeper. I've yet to find one with the metal inlay on the handle.
