Thread: Miller Brothers

A good friend of mine and I both like Miller Brothers, Meriden, CT pocket knives. He pursues them a lot harder than I do and has been looking for a MB razor for several years and has yet to locate one. Neither of us can recall ever having seen one. He's in the Boston vicinity and I'm in Texas.

We both suspect that MB made razors or had them made with their name. If they did, we still haven't found one.

Have any of you sage gents ever come across one?

I am on the MA/RI border but range into CT/ME/NH from spring - fall. I am a serial flea market, auction, and estate sale habituate. I don't think I've ever seen a Miller anything before and sharp implements are something I hunt down. Although, not specifically razors. Now I am indeed curious.

Many New England cutlers sprang up during the westward expansion but they often had broad product lines. Literally, anything sharp from surgical tools to cabbage choppers. It could be if Miller made razors at all, they did not do so for long and why they are scarce now. I will put Miller down on a mental post-it note and keep my eyes open.

Their pocket knife production was prolific. Miller Brothers made knives from 1872 to 1926. Have never seen a razor with their mark. I find it interesting that just about every "old line" ( Catteraugus, Case Bro's. Imperial, Electric, Holley, Challenge, Wilbert, Etc) company all made knives as well as razors. Keep an eye out and see what you can find.

I will look at local flea markets this spring since my girl works in Meriden and we like 25 min from there.

I love learning stats like that and agree it is likely that they also made them. Once I know about something, I start tripping over them. You just wait, if there is a razor out there I will find it this year. Now it is a mission to see you with it.
