    Default Fake Filharmonica?

I almost bought a Filharmonica. It was in pretty rough shape. The scales looked right, but the blade had very visible grind marks.

I can't make up my mind if it was badly reground, or is it a fake? It doesn't look like it's been honed, or the bevel was removed. The razor was in Uruguay.

In any case, at the last minute I passed.

I'd say it's real! It does have some wicked hone wear however!

I know fake razors have been discussed numerous times, but has anyone definitely found one? I think the quality drops in razors comes from different manufacturers purchasing the trademark names and using them. The quality doesn't always follow the trademark from one owner to the next.

I would say it's real. Maybe poorly reground or just beat up in general.

Who would go thru the trouble to fake a $10 razor?

This one is not new, it is good that you skipped on it.
I doubt anyone will fake a razor with so much hone wear, it would make sense to make a fake that looks like a brand new one.
If you consider the detail involved to make a good fake, its pretty much not worth the time and effort.

#13 Looks like a Heavier grind then we normally see, obviously a single grind and not the normal double shoulder, the spine looks to be one of the older style Triangular types that you sometimes see on some of the Sheffield blades.. I am not seeing a huge amount of hone wear there, at least not in the pics but they can can decieving ..

I think you might have missed out on a bit different Filarmonica.
