    Default Filarmonica razor troubles

So I just purchased a filarmonica novodur 13, and everything looked great until I seem what looks like a crack in the spine not sure if it makes any difference in usability or anything, but I've never seen anything like this talked about here.... Wondering if its nothing to worry about or sol on the razor. Advice on weather I should keep, sell, display, return anything would be appreciated. Thanks

I personally have never seen anything like that before. I'm sure someone else will chime in, but a crack anywhere on a blade cannot be good. I'd say if you can, return it.

I have some razors with this kind of cracks. In fact, It is not a problème, You can shave with it. It is a default in the stell, a fissure. The risk is to broke definetly the blade if it fall over. But Fila are very breakable anyway.

Careful, you're talking about people's babies here. They like to think their filly's are razor perfection

With further examination, it almost looks like a break in between two pieces of metal, and by that I mean it looks as if they folded it together and slip back open when it cooled or something. I'm not really sure what goes into making straight but that's my hypothesis. It also looks like the crack follows all the way to the tang but from the toe is the only place that's kinda slip the rest has what appears to be a line but not opened. I'll see if I can take better pics with my actual camera and not my phone. Thanks guys

Water may get trapped in the crack. If it is a carbon steel razor it may cause rust induced erosion of the crack. Send it back if you can.

Ok, we'll the seller said he'd accept the return, so guess it turned out ok and also I never even thought about the water getting trapped and progressively making things worse or rusty. Yikes !

I have not seen a crack like that either. I think returning it is your best solution and am glad that will work for you. It seems
the rust issue as well as possible irregular widening of the crack could make the razor difficult to hone as well. Good luck.

Very interesting, I've never seen that exact crack either.
