My wife and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary and spent a very enjoyable day @ Grants Farm with our little girl. We'll go out on the town this weekend.

Result:Today we took our daughter to the zoo. I didn't realize how far along the wife and daughter were in getting ready and was told that I didn't have time to do a complete shave. The Dovo performed effortlessly and I was able to do a >10 minute 2 pass shave. She may not look like much, but she sure performs.

So the Hayashi came up to North Idaho, Since I had honed this last, I just touched it up, with some Pigtails on my Coticule diluting to clear water.. Then finishing on my Nakayama Midori basically the same rountine I use on a Kamisori style razors, only using western Style honing strokes..
The edge is an incredible shaver, that you would be hard pressed to beat...

After: T&H West Indian Limes Balm
Cologne: T&H West Indian Limes

My first crack at the straight razor. Stropped it 30 on the webbed fabric and 50 on the leather. Poppin' hairs with a "ping". Lathered up real good with delicious smelling T&H West Indian Limes and went at it. Not so good. Felt awkward holding the razor. Then it felt as though the blade was getting caught on the stubble. Gave it better angle and guided the blade against my face and it began to take off hairs. Not too bad I thought. This was on my left side and all I did was the cheek. Then I went onto the right side and did the same. Not too bad.

Then I tried my upper lip area but abandoned that idea. Not comfortable. Then I started next to my mouth to the left and that's when it happened... The razor dug in! Got a nice cut a little over a quarter of an inch long. Bled pretty good.

Then I resorted to my Merkur 38C to finish up.

I think this blade (the Regeldso straight razor) is shave ready. She's a beaut to look at and pops hair off my arm pretty effortlessly. Probably just gotta work on my technique and confidence.
