Thread: a clone is a clone

Ok, first off, I know that this DE is not even comparable to the original and that for the same price I can get the real thing. I am simply interested to see if anybody has used this or if they know how this shaves.
I keep getting outbid on every superspeed that I see on ebay, so i'm just looking for something similar.
I have a Parker 90r on the way, which i've heard mixed reviews on. Just seeing what works and what doesn't.

I've never tried one, but I haven't heard good things.

I just got a Weishi last week.

It's aluminum, almost weightless. And it exposes _just a little bit_ of the blade edge, and is a very un-aggressive shaver.

I don't know how long it will last, but it shaves just fine with a Feather blade. I haven't tried it with the Dorco blade.

FYI, a clone is not a clone. Methylation variations can lead to drastic differences from clone to clone.

I've heard good things about Weishi razors ... but only from someone who was trying to sell them. The consensus amongst people who have bought them to shave with seems to be that they're excessively mild and the sweet spot is very narrow indeed. Sounds like cpcohen1945 had the right idea when he loaded it with a Feather.

My other DE razor is an old 3-piece Gillette. It is much more aggressive, and it gave me real problems with a Feather blade.

The Weishi works fine. You must be conscious of the razor angle against your skin, otherwise the Weishi just glides along, without cutting any beard hairs. I like that better than getting 'weepers' with the Gillette. With the right angle (keeping the blade in contact with the skin), the Weishi shaves nicely, and is reasonably forgiving about mistakes.

It _feels_ like a toy, but it's a real DE razor.

If you like mild, feather light razors like a Gillette Tech then this may be the razor for you. But if you like your shavers to be on the hefty side, like me, then look elsewhere.

I have owned and used the Weishi. It is an extremely mild razor: the opposite of your Parker 90R, which I also have owned.

If you have a light beard, fine, but if you have a tough beard, I suggest other razors than the Weishi.

This was my first DE razor and I still use it... It is very non aggressive but work great for me... However, those blades suck for me...
