Default I Need More Substance From My Merkur 23C Handle!

    Hey Guys,

I’ve been using my Merkur 23C for about a week now and I do so very much like the way it works, but I think I would prefer a bit more "substance" from the handle. I'm letting the head do the work, but the handle seems a bit thin and I would like a larger diameter without loosing the length. (Insert Michael Scott's "That's what she said!" comment here...)

I chose the 23C because of its longer handle, but I think I would like the extra “meat” of a handle the same diameter as the 34C in the same length as the 23C. Does anyone else have a similar problem? If so can someone tell me if Merkur (or an aftermarket manufacturer) has such a handle and how I could procure one? Thanks in advance for the help!

Well then my friend, I think I know exactly what you're looking for: the Merkur 38C, aka the Barber Pole, which is the 34C with a longer/heftier handle. Also happens to be a favorite of mine, as some readers here likely know. Highly recommended (by me ).

Maybe the iKon solid stainless steel handle? You'll have to check the thread size but it supposedly fits Muhle and some other vintage heads.

Yep, I made the same mistake back in the day (notice my username). Switch to a Edwin Jagger DE89L you'll never look back.

Problem solved! I bought a "Pre-loved" 38C from member Chevyguy! Can't wait for it to get here!
