    Cool

Received my first MWF puck in the post today! First thing it seemed that it would not load on the brush, then I added some water and wow! Made much too much lather! I don't need nearly so much on the brush next time!
Lather very creamy, although my technique needs some work.

Everything good that I have heard about MWF is true!!!

I bought the wooden bowl for it as I only bought the refill, put it about 1 min in micro to soften it and packed it into its wooden bowl. I suspect it will last a long time as it really lathers up into my shave cup/bowl.

    A new favorite!

    Default Top Shelf Shaving Soap

This is my go to soap, and has been for months. I absolutely love it.

PACKAGING: Does not mean a lot to me, but at the same time it does come in a classy cardboard box with an inner wax paper wrapping.

TEXTURE: I love it. It produces a very nice, thick foam. By itself MWF is on par with uber-lather. This may be very dependent on how soft one's water is.

LATHERABILITY: Your mileage may vary. I lather on my face, which for some reason produces a better lather than when I lather it up in a bowl. I'm not sure about how hard my water is, but I understand that this soap can be very difficult to lather with harder water. Some say it is short lasting, but my standard shave lasts about 10 minutes and the lather more than holds up for that time. Sometimes I go for a extended shave that lasts about 20 minutes, in which case I dip the tip of my brush in hot water before re-lathering for subsequent passes. I also soak my MWF for 5-10 minutes in hot water before using, which helps brush loading considerably.

CUSHION: Properly lathered, MWF provides a very nice interface between blade and face.

MOISTURISING: The lanolin gives it a very high moisturizing quality. I've used other soaps that claim to be moisturizing soaps, but nothing else gives my face such a long lasting softness as MWF. I believe using it over an extended period of time, regularly giving your face a lanolin treatment, has added benefits.

PRICE: One puck is expensive, but with good searching you can get it for less than $10 USD per puck. It takes months to go through a single puck so I think it is more than worth the price, especially when one considers such high quality.

At least 6 months with a scrubby brush & generous loading.
