Thumbs up Edwin Jagger "Aloe Vera" shaving cream

Sometimes, even grown ups like to play "show me yours, and I'll show you mine". On one of these occasions, ben.mid and I traded some samples. Ben kindly provided me with a very nice package full of extremely nice stuff, amongst which EJ Aloe Vera deserves the first review.

The manufacturer has the following to say about themselves:And this is what they say about their Aloe Vera cream:Right. Interesting claim. Let us see what happens when marketing meets German QA...

    Packaging
: n/a as it was a sample. The packages do look very good in pictures, though, elegant and stylish.

Texture: CF like. Fluffy cream with which it is easy to load a brush. My favourite texture, really.

Scent: Unobtrusive, yet distinguished. A fresh, slightly fruity smell. I like it a lot.

Latherability: Excellent. Not quite Caraceni or CF quality, but certainly top notch. The lather is thick and creamy, and stays that way for longer than I actually cared, i.e. more than 20 minutes. Impressive.

Cushion: More than enough by leaps and bounds. A tad less than I would have expected from looking at the lather, interestingly.

Moisturising: Again, more than enough. Where the cream really shines, though, is the soothing effect. Well, Aloe Vera has been used because of this effect for millennia, and it works marvellously well in this cream, too. If you have sensitive skin, this might be the biggest buying factor.

Price: USD 25 for 3.5 oz./100 ml - that is a really fair price for a cream like this.

Overall impression:Another English cream with impressive performance. Thankfully, also one with a clean, fresh scent. Add to that the soothing characteristics, and the carefully selected ingredients, and you have a really good cream. Recommended.

Ingredients: Aqua (Water), Potassium Stearate, Potassium Palmitate, Potassium Cocoate, Glycerin, Sodium Stearate, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Sodium Palmitate, Sodium Cocoate, Cera Alba (Beeswax), Potassium Myristate, Cetyl Palmitate, Parfum (Fragrance), Potassium Laurate, Sodium Myristate, Sodium Silicate, Sodium Thiosulfate, Benzyl Benzoate, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Linalool
