I've examined my face with my wife's simple magnifying make-up mirror, which was plenty close enough.

I must admit to a bit of jealousy. My beard hairs are packed much closer together than yours and grow out of the skin at a very low angle, so after five months of full face shaving, some parts of my face are still only approaching BBS.

But like Obie, it's the romance of the ritual that hooked me on straight razor shaving.
