    Default O. K. I Am Convinced!

Yesterday, I got out my 6/8 Heljestrand No. 6 for my morning shave. This razor has become one of my best and favorite straights. Feeling a little lazy, I decided this "A" razor could certainly give another "A" shave without having to be stropped. Boy, was I wrong. I could barely eke out a "B" level shave. It was uneven on the cheeks and impossible on the upper lip and chin. I finally finished the shave with two passes of my Fatboy. I realized it was my fault for not appreciating the needs of the Heljestrand.

This morning, I honed the Heljestrand with 10 laps on the Swaty and 60 laps on leather. Sure enough, I was rewarded with an "A" shave.

My Lesson Has Been Learned: "Strop your razors before every shave!"

I've gotten to the point where I can see the difference a shave makes in the edge after one shave with 10X magnification. Stropping always brings it back.
