Forgive the comment, but a new member taking a razor that our experienced honesters have deemed inferior to an 8k hone to provide a great shave sounds suspect on many levels.

Was the B&B your first (only?) razor and is that 8k your only hone? If you've never used another razor then I'd strongly encourage you to at least try it to benchmark against the one you have. My thought is that you'll see a major difference.

Nice. How does this compare to your other razors?

    Norton 8k?

The B&B is on the "stay away if you love your face" list, but it sounds like you hit the b&b lottery

It's not just getting a good shave, it's also how long the edge lasts if it lasts at all.

It sounds like you are very lucky. Previous users of this razor have found it to be very poor over-all.

What does it matter? If he says he got great shave and is happy, then who cares?

I have two of these 'titanium' razors - one is OK to shave with and the other is a knife in my workshop.
I have used them both to practice honing.
I've only shaved with it a couple of times and cannot comment on how it holds an edge but it is good for stropping practice as well.
I'm soooo glad I found this place before I wasted any more money on things such as these.
Just in case you are wondering, yes I have a shave ready razor form a vendor here to compare with.
