Thread: Just wondering how old everyone is?

Just being curious and nosy. I am only 23. I started straight razor shaving two weeks ago for a few different reasons.
1) people tell me something is dangerous or that I can't do it: I will haha
2) How close of a shave you can get
3) I like to try new things
4) disposables are getting SOOO expensive!!!. like $30+ for 8 blades, common.. that’s ludicrous
5) (kind embarrassed) but makes me feel bad ass when friends look at me in horror that I even put a straight razor close to my jugular lol

Anyways what is the spectrum we have one here? I’m 23....

Having said that, I wish I started shaving with a straight at your age. I spent over 35 years being irritated, getting rashes and spending ridiculous amounts on disposable blades.

Your friends will most likely always shake their head and wonder why you would put a straight blade to your throat. I wondered the same thing, but now that I have some shaves under my belt and reasonable technique, I just tell them to touch my face after I've shaved. They almost always say "holy crap, that's a close shave"

Besides, there are still plenty of young ladies out there that love the feel of a clean shaved man, so take advantage of it

I'm 39, and I started shaving with straight razors because of an interest in Colonial / early American history and reenacting.

I'm 32 till dec 1st been shaving for about 4 months
