Default Shaving with a Large Blade

I shaved this morning with the razor described in this thread:

Otto & Reynders N. York ***Massive***

For the Newbies who are concerned about shaving with razors larger than 5/8, my
shave today showed me that, as long one is careful, there is nothing to worry about.
I approached the shave with far more care than I usually do, but I was rewarded with
a fine shave without razor burns or nicks. Even under the nose, the razor performed
    wonderfully.

Disclaimer: I am NOT suggesting that Newbies start with an 11/8 razor, but getting to
the point of shaving with one is less a problem than I had thought.

At least you got good work-out

I'm glad you survived that heavy monster. It is an impressive blade. 5.7 oz is not something to joke about.

As above,an 11/8 for a newb would be way to much.
Now,a 10/8 would be just fine

Sweet! I really want one in 10 or 11, 7/8 is the largest I have now. Any suggestions where to start looking?

Just cut to the chase and get yourself a battle axe.

I already have a few of those, but they won't fit on my bathroom countertop... ;-)

Is "A380" chiseled anywhere on that blade?
