Thread: Anyone else having a problem with these dang white hairs?

Maybe it's a problem with going gray, but after a couple of passes with a nice, sharp razor, there are always a few of those tiny white hairs that seem to resist all attempts at removal. The normally pigmented hair comes right off, I'm guessing because it's healthier, thicker, and offers more resistance to the blade, which allows easier removal, while that thin, colorless hair seems to delight in just sliding under the blade. Oh, I eventually find the correct direction of attack to get 'em, but it always takes extra, and sometimes extreme effort. Anyone else experience this?

Gray hairs are tougher than colored ones for some reason.

Well, I have plenty of gray and white hairs,but most of them are still pretty wiry and aren't much of a problem. That said, I do know what you are talking about. If it is taking you extra effort, then maybe you are due for a professional honing. I don't believe that a razor can be too sharp.

I have some bad news for you. Ever see the movie "The Fly"? Remember when those hair start to sprout on him? They were so tough he couldn't cut them with anything. I'm just saying here....

I haven't noticed any difference and my beard is probably 75% grey by now.

I haven't noticed any difference i am totaly grey when i let grow my hear.

I've also noticed that the whites are more persistent than the coloured whiskers. I wonder sometimes if it's a trick of the mind and I'm just getting greyer and that as a result, more often than not, the hairs left behind are those. *shrug*

I find the hairs at the base of my neck were the wrinkles are, are thinner and I have problems with them. I usually get them with my saftey razor

They may require a different approach or angle to get them.

They get tougher as they turn grey for me. Can't explain it.
