First Use of Chromium Oxide
I got my little pack of CrOx in the mail today so went down to the store and got myself some balsa wood. I cut it and glued it to a plank of wood i found it the garage. I sanded it down until reaching 1200 grit paper applied my CrOx using mineral oil. I grabbed my SS dovo and went at it around 25 laps. Didn't really feel that much different, anyway i stropped and shaved.
Man on MAn the blade was cutting through the hair like butter! It was insane it felt so awesome definitely the sharpest shave i'd had!! I'll be using this stuff from now on... Just a question how often do you have to reapply the CrOx to the balsa strop?
Thanks!

You reapply it when it stops working.

I use it on leather, apply and work it in with a beer bottle, after it is charged it will last a very long time, you can tell when it gets thin as it will sort of glaze over in spots.
As above,go easy,10/15 strokes,than test.

My balsa strop has CrO on one side and FeO on the other. I do 20 laps on each (CrO first), but that's only every 3 months or so. I got a barber's hone a few months ago, so now I'm alternating between that and the pasted strop in 3-month intervals.
