    Default #14 1/2 and #69

Sunday morning worked out well, two razors on German eBay ended and I won these at a very good price.

So I've seen the thread, "#14", well here's a razor with "14 1/2" stamped on the tang. It's a CD (Crown/Krone??) 9/8, Celebrated Razor, with a crown on the tang.

And got my hands on another one of my favourite framebamebacks, a Thiers-Issard #69:

Nice razors, Phrank! The 14.5 looks hefty.

Thanks - the 9/8 looks superb, and for under $100.00 can't complain, and when the same seller had a TI #69, literally one of my top 5 favourite razors for the price of an extra large pizza, was one happy camper for a day of shopping on eBay! And now, I can and will hone them myself!!

Thanks! I've become an expert at "straight razor" and other variants in multiple languages thanks to Google translate...there's some pretty awesome finds out there if you look, and for me, I just like the hunt...or in today's vernacular, I think it's called, "shopping".

I was talking with Zak about this one, we were wondering if the C crown D might be some take on the Sheffield tradition of marking like that, some kind of marketing.

And sorry if it was lost in translation, the description says the width is 24,75 mm = 0.97", a bit shorter than 9/8...

Will be interesting to see it when it arrives, wasn't worried about the .1 difference, when I saw that reminded me about the thread on razor measurement, he didn't list the blade as 9/8, but if he had, I would have been fine with it...being a Sheffield blade doppleganger, and the "Warranted Cast Steel", the 14 1/2 tang stamp, has literally left me with not even a starting place to look for information. Hopefully you and Zak can find something, but it wouldn't surprise me if it's some blank that got stamped and "marketed", doesn't even have a country of origin on it? I'm thinking post 1900's?
