I've been looking for one to take with me when the wife and I go away for a few days. Really didn't want to take one that looks good so I bid on this one and won it. It's a J A Hellberg supose to be swedish. I don't know if it will clean up good or not but I do believe the edge will be ok. anyway this is it. It was very cheap and free shipping.

Swedish razors are some very sweet shaving razors. Had a couple in the past and like a fool got rid of them. Been looking for a decent one since but they are hard to find in good condition. Sooner or later I'll get me another and will keep it this time.

That looks like it will be really nice after you clean it up. It might deserve a little bit more than road time.

You might end up using it more often then only while travelling, J. A. Hellberg are fine shavers and I'm sure it will clean up fine.

I've been looking at a couple of razors that I can't spell or pronounce the names but there Sweden made and look pretty good but it always boils down to the price. you can never tell about ebay.

All the that is shown on the blade was prretty much discoloration. It buffed off with no problem. The blade it's self shows a little wear in the middle of the spine but no wear on the end or tip of the spine or the cutting edge the eBay photos show that and other that it is now shinny theres no difference. . I really can't figure that out. It's 5/8 blade or what ever the mm is compared to 5/8. I'll hone it up and see how it shaves.

Hellbergs are indeed fine razors. Their grinds tend to be on the heavier side (think quarter hollow), this seems to be half hollowish.

I had a chance to use it this morning. It took a wicked edge and shaves and handles great. I really didn't expect as smooth a shave with a 5/8 blade but to my suprize and joy it did a very nice job. Because of it's size and the way it shaves it will be one of the razors i will take with me when i go on a trip on the bike. I don't shave every day when I'm on the road but do clean up every 2-3 days and i believe this will be a good one for this.

After shaving with this one I guess it needs a running mate. I've started looking for another one to keep it company. if not the same brand and size maybe the same size and a different name. who knows.
