I've heard great things about Thistle Cut's. I like a covered tang myself. Nice find.

Very nice. Back in the '70s $5 was about like $$20.00 is now in buying power. Still a real good deal at many times the price. Damn, can you believe that 1970 was FORTY years ago ??? Seems like just the other day.

Welcome to SRP! Nice razor! Are you shaving with it? I have a couple and really enjoy the shaves with them.

Sadly no at this point, I've had my razor's stored away since the seventies and recently dug them out and started to research them. So far I'm very interested in trying, but need to get all the gear together and find a willing balloon/ dumb subject? (come'mere here kitty kitty...) to practice on.

I have a Thistle that I found in an antique store about a year ago. Handed it off to Glen (gssixgun) at the last East Coast meet up to be cleaned, straightened out, rescaled and honed. One of my favorite razors. Takes one hell of an edge and keeps it for a good long while.
