Now here's a new way of stropping. I wonder what's next.
Anyone using of those yet?

Very interesting. I'm not going to buy one but I've got a 3' piece of 3" wide x 1/8" balsa I'm going to play around with.![]()
just how easy would it be to accidentally hit one of those plastic clamps? a momentary lapse of concentration and its back to the stones ....
no .. not even a good idea imo but then to try and charge $139.95 for it ... well thats just hilarious

Hmmmm
The comparison in the description is to a leather strop. But to me, the relevant comparison would be to a regular untreated balsa paddle strop. That's not provided.
The price seems extraordinary; I think I could make a similar suspension device with the balsa for under $20, though I would not use something as heavy as corian.

I got a 3x 24 " from my local hardware store for 3 bucks, only for CrO I don;t feel like this will in any way outperform a hanging strop, best case it will be the same.
I think the modular paddle from SRD would be a way better deal with the versatility and $ left over for a tub of Castle Forbes cream.![]()

So far, every time I try either a CrO or diamond paste on balsa, it sets up stiff and results have not been near as good as either leather or felt. Personal opinion only.
Have fun,

Even if you do want balsa, that thing is an unbelievable ripoff, imo.
