Know thyself
Someone really loved the heck outta that razor. Took the time to do the rescale, and honed through lots of steel too. Nice piece of history there.

Nice ingenuity someone had there. I have had a handful of old razors where some previous owner made a macguyver repair that was interesting. One guy whittled a cap on the end that kept the two broken scales in place rather than a spacer between the scales. Copper brad pivot pin, etc.
That's keeping it going!

Yeah I just oiled it up with Camelia oil and I'll just leave it the way it is. It's a nice thing to look at.

Yep, looks like someone loved their razor. It's an interesting piece of folk art to say the least. Back in those days, 'disposable' wasn't all that common of a word. Heck, my grandpa grew up during the depression and is now ninety years old and still has a pile of 2x4's that he 'might use someday'....sheesh, that pile is older than I am.
