    Default New Brush

Not a razor, but we like brushes too, right?

I had John at West Coast Shaving pick me out a new Vulfix-Simpson Chubby 2 Best Badger brush. I have read a lot of good things about Simpson's Best Badger hair grade. Some say it is better than Rooney's Super Badger Grade. I was pretty disappointed with my Simpson Chubby 1 in Two-Band. The stiff prickly badger hair combined with the bulb-shape knot and small handle did not work for me. However, I think that brush is probably more suited for soap only usage. I'll probably sell it in the near future. I can't wait for this brush to arrive in the mail. Here is the picture (provided by John):

From what I've read, the Best starts out with a little scritch and then softens up a good bit. Let us know how you like it.

I have been pretty satisfied with my super CH1 2 band, for face lathering is excellent. Simpson sure makes great brushes. And I agree, the "prickliness" goes away after a few shaves. I hope that you are happy with yours too, that is what matters the most in my opinion.

    Al raz.

Thanks for the replies guys. I definitely agree that Vulfix makes great Simpson brushes. These are my favorite brushes being made today. I have read that Vulfix is great about correcting issues with peoples brushes, even older Somerset brushes.

Edit: Maybe I'll give the Chubby 1 a little more time before I sell it.
