Are 3/8" razors used for detail work around the ears and neck after a haircut, or are these the razors of choice for some people?

What I find is that the smaller razors place more stress on your hands while shaving and the larger ones are more comfortable.

Congrats on impressing your barber enough to pass these beauties to you. Nice razors!

Thanks for sharing the pictures and the story of how you acquired such a trove of nice razors! Simply speechless after that comment; they are just fantastic.

From what I have read the 3/8" blade is for detail work. The whole razor is scaled down. While not a "manly" looking razor it shaves quite well. The only difference I've noticed is my fingers sit further up the spine but it is not uncomfortable for me.

    Default 3/8" razors

The cute little blades in a new Gillette Hydro-machomatic 12 or whatever they're selling now, are what -- maybe 1/16" wide? We only shave with a tiny edge anyway.

That is incredible good fortune for you. I am in agreement that a sound _$$ kissing of your barber is in order.

    Hello, Woodchuck:

Good fortune did indeed swim in your lane. That is a great gift from your barber. Well deserved, I might add. Congratulations.

    Regards,

Now thats a great score! Hope you enjoy 'em! The "Old Rock" coticule will be a really sweet hone, they're great stones.

Yep, you'll have to get your barber a bottle of something at Christmas for that lot..!

I had the pleasure of meeting woodchuck at the recent Michigan get together plus I got a look at all of this stuff "up close and personal". Nice!! That coti and the Fili really caught my eye, but it's all good stuff. Well done, woodchuck.
