Default ID Help -- The Victor / XL-All / Justrite

Prowling antique shops can get addictive. I picked up three razors, in pretty good condition, and could use some help with ID's.

    a) Who made "The Victor" -- no other markings ?

    b) Is the "XL-All" (Parkin & Marshall) a re-grind? Or did P&M make that small, beautiful, swoopy blade ?

    c) I think the "JustRite / Ski Brand / Waldern" is a product of the ERN factory, and therefore a respectable Solingen blade. Any other information would be welcome.

    Thanks --

    Charles

No info to share, but that XL ALL is a really sweet looking razor.

Yes, it is. It's about 1/4 hollow, so there's enough weight in the blade to give it a nice feel. The lack of any heel stabilizer (or is that called something else?) gives it a very light look. It's short, but not _too_ short.

    I think it's a keeper.

    Angry Electric Razor User

I have a black cardboard case with "Trade Clauss Mark" on it and the slide off lid has "The Clauss Shear Works - Fremont, Ohio USA.

The straight razor inside has a red handle. On the tang of the blade appears the wording
"The Victor". Now I'm totally confused. Is the razor a "Victor" in a Clauss box or the razaor actually made by Clauss?

The box appears to be older than the razor but I'm a novice and don't know one from the other. Any information anyone can provide would be very helpful.

Nice pileYour razor and box are mismatched. I know nothing about a 51 Victor. I do have a nice one. If somebody wants it, PM me! expenses only. I think they were a post WW2 production. It seems to be a quality blade. ....get it on....Tom

I appreciate the thread. I was all but certain that the box and razor were mixed but was hopeful that it was for real. In checking the internet I did not find anything that would qualify my razor as an antique and that is basically what I was looking for. Again, thanks for your thread...

How large is the XL-ALL razor? It looks exactly like a "THE MAB" razor..
