Thumbs up My new Neil Miller Custom 3" Shell Cordovan and Linen Strop

So at the last London Razorcon Birnando had his new Neil Miller strop which was made from shell cordovan and linen. I was lucky enough to try it out and was blown away by the performance and the wonderful silky draw.

I emailed Neil right after the meet to say thanks for the razor case he very kindly sent me and to ask him about making me a strop. We emailed back and forth a couple of times with Neil suggesting ideas and speccing out what I was after. I really cant take any credit for the deisgn of this strop, it was all based on Birnando's strop and Neils excellent suggestions!

The strop arrived yesterday and I tried it out this morning. All I have to say to wow! I'm absolutely stunned by the craftsmanship and performance of this strop, I simply cannot say enough good things about it. The draw is simply out of this world, absolutely spot on on both the leather and the linen, the workmanship is flawless and as for the edges it leaves... Psychotic doesnt come close. I shaved with my Wacker this morning (already a superb shaver) and it simply wiped the hairs away. I was even able to do a totally irritation free ATG pass which I can usually never do! The shave was totally BBS, irritation free, close and comfortable... Absolute heaven!

Neil is a true gentleman and an absolute pleasure to deal with and was in touch with me the whole time about when it was finished, emailing me pictures and letting me know when it was shipped. Anyone who is in the market for a new strop should get in touch with Neil, you wont be disappointed!

I'm not going to try to take pictures of the strop, I simply wouldnt do it justice with my decidly rubbish photography skills, so the pics I've posted below are the ones Neil sent me.

The strop is a 3" wide Shell Cordovan leather with a linen component. There is a stainless steel D ring component and its 31" long in all, with a stropping length of just over 16". The handles are thin black latigo and the little tapers on the handles were something that B had on his strop that I really liked.

This strop is just awesome. End of story. Thanks Neil!

Absolutely beautiful, Neil's work looks top quality and i can attest to him being a thoroughly top fellow. He helped me out with razor pinning last month to the point where he sent me some pre peened pins and other odds and sods to help me out, this was before i'd even bought anything from him!

I'm also about to be the owner of a Neil Miller strop.

    Congrats Stu!

Wow, beautiful strop! I'm sure it performs wonderfully. Can't
    beat the genuine linen, IMHO.
