Thread: 8/9 Gotta

Evening all.
This afternoon I dropped into a barber for a haircut and got talking to the gentleman about Straight Razors. I was telling him how I kind of collect them and he pulled out a Gotta which was apparently a gift from his Uncle back in the day when he started his barbers apprenticeship. After looking it over he insisted that I have it. I was quite taken back but after a while I agreed to take it.

Does anyone have any info on this razor? On the blade is says "Hamburg Ring" "GOTTA Reg" & "Superfine". On the tang is got 120 Gotta stamped on it.

I have one in the stables.. It is a go to razor that will never leave the rotation. You have a keeper. Sepcially if the gold wash is intact, and the tail pin is is not cracked as which happens on a lot of them for some reason

I have a 6/8 Gotta like that as well, very good razor. Congrats!

I think he would become my regular barber if he wasn't already.
