I was at my buddies last night who had an antique shop at one time and I mentioned that I started shaving with a straight razor and he got up and started rummaging around in his stuff and pulled out a little box and out came all these razors,
The vertical one on the left is a*This is a C.W.Dahlgren Eskilstuna Medalier Chicago 1893 7/8*I've never seen one like it before*
In the next row of three the top one is a George Wostenholm & son 5/8 it has horn scales one scale has a little worm holing I cleaned it up and put an edge on it and it's a nice shave*
The middle one is a GEO HAW & Co the blade is chipped but it has nice horn scales that I can salvage*
The bottom one is a J. R. Torry razor it is a 5/8 with barber notch it has plastic scales it's cleaning up pretty nice so far*
Now the top right one in the case is a Double Arrow 7/8 I know these are cheap razors it has Chinese characters in the tang as well as solingen the neat thing about this is the custom case now I can't prove it but it was apparently made during WW2 it is inscribed "The Admiralties" which was a series of battles led by Douglas McArthur*
And the last blade without scales is a mystery to me I can only make out parts of the name on the tang which is bohl ?sons co and something else below that that is not readable it has "THE BEAUTY" inscribed on the blade it was solid rust I cleaned it up a little*
He also gave me a few honing stones the brown one is a pfister Hone and the other one is an Arkansas wet stone I don't know what grit it Is but it is smooth like glass and pit a great edge on my wade & butcher
And here is a pic of the C.W.*Dahlgren, the George Wostenholm, J.R. torry and "the beauty" so far
