Thread: My first Wade and Butcher 4/8 wedge

I got this little baby off the bay and didn't realise what size it was until it arrived.
The scales were pretty much shot being held together with wire.
I decided to try out the horn blanks that I got recently and think that they turned out pretty well.
This is my first attempt at horn scales and my first smiling wedge.
I'm sure there is a knack to honing a wedge this small that I don't know about - I went through nearly a roll of tape!!
I shaved with it today and think I got the honing right. (Many thanks to gssixguns video)
The bevel isn't as even as I would like, but - it works.
Very smooth and just mowed the whiskers down - can't wait to get a bigger one.
Any comments are appreciated.

Nice work on the scales - I've always been a fan of a matching wedge!

Beautiful restore, love the wedge work. She appears to be one solid scale.
Now she will go on to shave another 100 years.

It shaves really nicely, but was a bugger to hone - couldn't get the bevel even.
It's the only razor in ages I've tried the HHT on and, even with an oily blade it made SWMBO's hair just jump off.
She has very fine red hair.
Not that I use this as a test - just wanted to see what happened.
Do you use narrower tape to hone a wedge this small?

Nice work. I am usually enamoured of larger blades, but that one is an exception to my own rule. Great work on the scales, too.
