Bone Scaled Masonic Razor
This is a set of bone scales, that were dark brown when I started...sorry no before pic's. I cleaned them, soaked in neatsfoot oil for what was supposed to be a few days, but ended up being a week because I forgot them..lol. Some light sanding and they shine fine for me. I don't know what kind of bone these are? So anyways, with some overkill, I put in a etched W&B Masonic razor with the cast brass washers you can get off ebay with some micro fastners. Eventually I'll try to polish up the blade some more, and attempt some honing. The spacer will be a cobalt blue, once I find the material. Here's where it's at for the moment. I'm not great at photography.

That looks sweet, at first I wasn't sure about the washers, but they are growing on me the more I look at it.

That blade is a very fine specimen of a masonic etched razor. Nice.

Thanks guys, not sure I can work that blade any further as it would take away from the etch, so I guess I'll leave it with an 'old world' look, that's why I finally decided on bone scales. The washers, yeh just thought I'd try them. Bought a set of them to use on a bigger 7/8th meat cutter.
