    Default Heljestrand twins

    God morning!

I've found these on our local Swedish Ebay. Dirt-cheap actually..
The box is quite beat up but the razors are in pretty outstanding shape considering their age(im guessing quite old). I have never seen this model before so im a bit confused. Some input here would be greatley appreciated.
Anyway, I've always wanted a twin-set to join me for travels or holiday trips so im superecited to hone them. Theres a small, really small, chip in one of the witch i will be taking out but other then that, they are still quite sharp, popping arm-hair. I recently bought a c12k and a small coticule from The invinsible edge so my fingers are itching. Many thanks to TIE for the swift delivery and thoughtful packaging!
    Anyhow, here's the pics!

    Hi.
Congrats. Scales looks like ivory to me. Heljestrands are awesome shavers.

    Regards.

Yes, scales are Ivory. And, im pretty sure that the wedge is silver, im gonna find a way to examine that. Not that it matters but it is interesting.

Congratulations, beautiful framebacks. I do not see any hone wear line. Be careful working on the scales.

    Wow. You certainly did score.

I started one last night that's not in ivory and not that pristine, but repeatedly I read of them being best of breed for framebacks. I'm still figuring out Swedish steel. Its been more consistenly hard than others. I know Glen has mentioned the c12k as being good for them. Mine's fine at getting sharpness, but harsh as heck. 'Luck of the draw on the chinese rocks. They've mostly responded well to the asagi. Those that stay too crispy get the Thuri and that usually settles it.

I look forward to tasting the fine edge these blades take. 'Hope yours just give you smiles for a long time.

Congarts on a nice score! (I was watching them myself, but went for a couple others instead)

IRC these are from around the 1830's, wonderful shavers when you get them tuned in, the steel is hard as he**

A little advice is to tape the spine when honing as the steel in the frame is a lot softer than the blade and will wear down faster than on a "one piece" razor.
