Thread: 5x Vintage Wade & Butchers!

Hello all,

Had to show off my new gems.

5x Wade & Butchers - a few of them are real meat cleavers!

I still can't decide which one's my favourite.

The pins need tightening and I may replace the scales on some of them… Thoughts anyone/everyone?

They are ALL beautiful razors.
Did you buy them all together or seperately?
I would keep the original scales wherever possible.
Even the patina gives it character in my view.
After all these are not "off the shelf" razors you can find down the road

they seem in good condition, I would also try to keep the original handles if possible (difficult to see from such a small photo). Recently obtained my first W&B and like how it shaves. Enjoy them!

Thanks everyone! I was thinking the same about the patina, too. I think it gives them good character.

I think I may keep the scales as some of you suggested - but will still need to re-pin some I think.

I bought them all at once from the same seller in the US.

My personal taste is to take these old razors, polish them up like new, and make new, exotic wood/horn scales for them, so they look pretty. That way, you are literally making them "your own." But many on here prefer to clean up the original scales and leave a patina, and there is a place for that, too. It really just depends on what you like.

They all look to be in nice shape. Start with some Maas for the blades and scales to see what you have. Nice score!

Very classy looking razors! I just love the styling of the Wade & Butchers. My "two cents" regarding the scales is a recommendation to keep them. I love natural wood scales with cool grain patterns and deep, rich colors, but for these beauties I think the "classy originality" trumps even my love for the wood handles.
